Dear Journal,
Today I am writing in my journal about an act of civil disobedience that I have recently been going on.(Quit india movement)
In response to Mahatma Gandhi's speech for immediate independence that this whole situation started. This effort got off to a rocky start because Congress thought that this was illegal so they arrested all of the major leaders including Gandhi. As this is all taking place World War 2 is going on, I've noticed that many of us are divided on whether to support the British or not during the war. Another major thing that is going on is know as the Cripps Mission. This was to talk to the Indian political parties to secure the support of the Indians to the British.

Dear Journal,
Today, me and my four friends that all were working at the factory mill. It is said that we all have displayed maximum vigor and enthusiasm towards this. The government is trying to suppress us so the movement can subtly calm down. In result to this a horrible incident of open fire took place. While my friends and I were there, many women and children were killed in this, including my friend's mother. I am not alone in this act, many people are all on the same side about the whole situation. My friends and I are all on the same side that we do want our independence, but my mother is always telling me not to get involved in what is happening. Some of the negative effects that have been happening are that people are getting killed and jailed for their actions. Some positive effects are that people are all coming together for what they believe in and it is unifying us. Also, When Gandhi was released from prison everyone became more peaceful.

Dear Journal,
There were more attacks in the past couple days on the government buildings including the post offices, police stations, and railroad stations. These attacks got much attention because the troops had to be called in to calm down the riots but firing. But once they released Gandhi from prison things got a lot better. his idea for independence and peace was accepted all though India. The overall experience for me was very eventful and very worth now having independence. A lot of things were all just happening at once starting with the arresting of major leaders, the killing of many woman and children and destroying government buildings. Breaking the law and participating in all of these actions was very much worth it. Because we all came together and fought for what we believe in, India now has its independence that we have all longly waited for.
